Introduction

Welcome to the CAS-MPG Summer School 2025! This summer school is hosted in partnership with the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and  Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. The event will take place from Nov. 16-19, 2025, at the Cloud Park International Conference Center (光明天安云谷国际会议中心), in Shenzhen, China. The event is an intimate and dynamic venue that brings together researchers who aims to explore the quantitative synthetic biology in drug discovery, microbiome engineering & synthetic cells, and protein engineering.

About the CAS-MPG Summer School 2025

The CAS-MPG Summer School 2025 will serve as an additional platform for Sino-German collaboration in synthetic biology. The program will combine keynote lectures by leading figures of the field, invited talks by early-career researchers, both from within MPG and CAS, but including also selected external speakers, as well as flash talks and poster sessions from PhD students and postdocs. By facilitating in-depth academic exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue, especially with PhDs and postdocs from within the MPG and CAS, the summer school will foster international networks and stimulate innovative thinking in applying quantitative synthetic biology to fields such as environment, energy, and medicine. It will also support future joint research and technology transfer between China and Germany.
