About IWRAM-8

Rydberg atoms and molecules are significant research subjects in the fields of quantum physics and quantum technology. Due to their unique physical properties—such as large-scale electronic orbits, long lifetimes, strong interactions, and extreme sensitivity to external electric fields—they have become ideal platforms for studying many-body physics, quantum computation, quantum optics, and precision measurement.

The International Workshop on Rydberg Atoms and Molecules (IWRAM) series has been dedicated to promoting the frontier development of Rydberg research since its inception. Following successful meetings in Changchun (2016), Taiyuan (2017), Shanghai (2018), Hangzhou (2019), Wuhan (2021), Guangzhou (2023), and Wuhan (2025), the 8th workshop (IWRAM-8) will be held in Taiyuan from August 16 to 20, 2026. This workshop is hosted by State Key Laboratory of Quantum Optics Technologies and Devices, Institute of Laser Spectroscopy, Shanxi University.

IWRAM-8 will continue to provide an academic exchange platform for Rydberg researchers. We cordially invite experts and scholars to gather in Taiyuan to share the latest research results and discuss future development directions in the field. The workshop will include invited talks, oral presentations, and poster sessions.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

        Quantum computation and simulation with Rydberg atoms

        Nonlinear effects and quantum optics with Rydberg atoms

        Quantum precision measurement of microwave field with Rydberg atoms

        Rydberg interactions and many-body physics

        Rydberg precision spectroscopy

        Rydberg molecules and Rydberg ions

        Hybrid and solid-state systems with Rydberg states
