Magnetic symmetry analysis is an exceptional tool for characterizing complex and emerging magnetic phases in condensed matter physics. In particular, the concept of spin group symmetries has garnered renewed interest as a powerful framework for classifying unconventional magnetic phases, including altermagnets and recently discovered unconventional p-wave magnets.
This combined Workshop-School event aims to provide an overview of recent theoretical and experimental advancements in altermagnetism and unconventional magnetism, while offering practical lectures on advanced symmetry analysis methods for studying unconventional magnetic phases.
The Workshop will feature invited talks that introduce the fundamental aspects of unconventional magnetism and present cutting-edge research findings. The School component will focus on advanced applications of symmetry analysis, including hands-on sessions dedicated to spin groups, magnetic groups, and altermagnetism.
Students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and young scientists working in the fields of magnetism, electronic structure, and materials science are highly encouraged to participate.
